Mr. WALPOLE:    In the end, then, beauty is the only thing worth living for. Yet think of poor Narcissus, drowned falling into water admiring his own reflection. Huhh! We are much more fortunate. With a silver plated glass the process is far safer. It’s hard to drown in a mirror!!

Mr. HOGARTH:     Ahh!!! But just to be safe I always paint a portrait of myself and look at that in a mirror. Why with this process you can even look at your reflection in a stream with a certain degree of impunity.
