of classicism, made stoic and cold … Ahhh!!! … I’ve
just thout of a solution! If a bit offends in any way, then why
tolerate it? Cut it away. Just cut or pare the pieces which offwend.
Hack off the ugliness until it is no longer there. Hack and chop the
offending flesh, until all you are left with is just the beauty at the
bone.
Mr. WALPOLE: Then what you’re trying to tell me is that beauty is more than skin deep? Mr. HOGARTH: Indeed!! I can think of few things with a clearer line of grace than the naked bone! |
